Finger control Tips

Drumming is very much like art. "You want to be the paint on the Canvis and the hand that holds the brush"

Finger tech: Practice about 10 to 15 min a day holding you sticks with your thumb and pointer finger. On your drum or practice pad, do single stroke on the pad with just your pointer and thumb holding the stick. ( You must just hold the stick at the fulcrum point ie: the balance point)

By doing this you are building strenth in your fingers that hold and do the main control of your stick.

This can be done traditional grip as well just a little modified.

This will allow you to do multi bounce and double strokes more smoothly.

Admin here,

Here is another way to do this excersice.

Turn a practice pad away from you slightly. Take a stick in one hand. Hold at fulcrum point between thumb in pointer. Here is the visual, all fingers other than the thumb will be on top of the stick. You will bounce on the pad by doing a waving motion with the 4 fingers on the top of the stick.

This will strenthen those fingers for bouncing.

I will be posting a video on this soon.
